Our thoughts are the biggest controlling force in our lives. Constantly judging and interpreting all our experiences and trying to influence the perception other people are having of us, we get caught in a big spider web that distances us from the actual moment of experience. Thought, the countless chattering voices in our heads, seems such a central force in our experience of life, that we completely identify with it, forgetting to second-guess its origin and validity.

For my installation Noise in My Head, I asked a number of people surrounding my life at the time of creation of this show, to sit by themselves in a room and verbalize and record all thoughts which cross their minds during the time of one hour. Each of these recorded monologues were then inserted in each of the 35 rubber heads, which make up the installation of a crowd of heads all talking simultaneously. While this installation represents my surrounding, it also illustrates the accumulation of voices in my own head, as our thoughts are often a mere echo of what we have heard.
